Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is a time of laughter, tradition, family and friends and most of all the giving of love to those around you. I am on my third Thanksgiving since my mother Brenda Rose Reyes passed away. Its been a journey of rebirth, liberation and inner strength and alot of soul searching. What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving? I am thankful for all of you guys out there. All of you that email me that twitter me that facebook me that myspace me or for those of you that simply just pass by me and smile. This year I learned alot about what family is. Family to me doesnt have to be blood related they could be your friend your neighbor your animal. A stranger. Life to me is more about helping and giving. Rather then for the taking. I became very close to God these past two years and I have learned that helping your community and simply helping a friend or stranger in need is what we as people have to start doing more. To create a happy and joyous home you need to suround yourself with love and positive energy. This year I pray for all of you to find much joy and love to spread all year round. For us to all continue to grow on our journey and to follow the right path. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you and your families and most of all to mine and my friends. I love you all and dont forget to break the wishbone and make a wish....;)

Maybe it will come true..... have alittle faith it will go a long way.

Beauty Time and this time its for woman and men! I recently attended a gifting suite where I was introduced to my new favorite must have skin care line.This skin care line can be used for all year long. Being an actress I have had makeup put on my skin since I was 8 years old. I have gone through so many different products and the minute I started to use Dr.Gram Skin Care my skin changed right away. My skin was dry and had some dark spots due to sun and acne. Now its glowing and feels frsh and I hardly get breakouts now.

LIFE FOR THE WORLD

Life For The World was established in 2002. As far as an increase in teens wanting to take trips with us, we have just recently seen an increase. It is a hands on way to help. It is an amazing experience for teens to be able to see what a day is like in Haiti and they are able to work with the children in the orphanage and visit surrounding Haitian villages. Also, ways for community members can help on a small scale would be to take part of Sponsoring a child. This is also a great way to get involved on a more personal level. For $30 a month anyone can go onto our website and sponsor a child. In return, they will receive updates and will be able to learn about their child. Sponsors are also able to send gifts, have correspondence with their child and are invited to visit their child in Haiti. The $30 helps to provide the child with food, water, medical aide, clothing, shelter, schooling and much more.Donations are also helpful.

SOUL SEARCHING

As I have gotten older I started to realize that its the little things in life that makes one happy. Like a stroll in your neighborhood or a hike on a beautiful trail. Maybe having lunch with a long lost friend or a late night conversion that was long over due. Maybe even going to the beach and paint a picture. Dancing, laughing, praying and meditating are all the things I do on a daily basis to stay happy. Being happy when you are alone is the most vital because if you cant be happy in your own company how can you be happy around others. I just recently started to read that was something I was never big on. As one gets older wisdom comes into play and you start to connect to the real you. Life lessons are a big part of growing. Losing loved ones or taking a break from friends or maybe changing ones normal everyday habbits. Its vital to change things up abit. Though I was told that being bored is a good thing. I like to go the extra mile and do the unknown and experience life in a different way and try to do things I wouldnt normally do. So if you or anyone reading this is at a cross roads in your life know that GOD and faith or whatever it is that you believe in will help center you in the right path. Sometimes you have to take a moment and just listen to the nothing sound in the world. Sometimes you have to let go in order to recieve the new. This was just a thought I wanted to share. What is soul seraching to you? Think about it and embrace it. Life is to short not to live and as my mother use to say there is enough hours in a day to do your hearts desires so run through that fire jump up and shout be alive and feel alive. Thats what soul seraching is to me.....

I wanted to post three of my favorite photos from my vacation I took this past week to ontario toronto canada. I was there for my dear friends wedding where I was a bridesmaid for the first time. The theme of the wedding was indian/american. I even recieved Henna on my feet check out my facebook page for photos in an album I made today. This trip was amazing and it truely was a page turner in my life. I had my family drive down from near new york to be apart of this trip that I shared with close friends and special people that are in my life. If you never visited Canada I have to say its a must. There are so many different cultures and such amazing food. There are different locations just like any major city has that represents ones nationality. I went to Little Italy and ate yummy pasta and had such yummy indian food during a 3 day ceremony for the wedding I was in. Niagara falls was my favorite. I took a limo with my family there and along the way we did my first wine tasting and drove through my new favorite town called Niagara on the Lake. Its the cutest town ever. Then I rode the Maid of the Mist which is the famous boat ride that takes you up and close to Niagara Falls. The story of Niagara Falls is amazing. Its a must see you can see it on the USA side or the canadian side. Plus the money is different there and I must say that their money is so pretty. I also was there during the G20 summit which was a big event that took place there. Our president was there and there was alot of chaos and riots taking place thank God I wasnt apart of that crazyness. I also visited the CN T0wer which is a must see where you can see the whole city in a 360 degree angle. They have a glass floor that you can stand on and that scared me but it was exciting all at the same time. The trip lasted a week and I miss the experience already. I hope to travel back there again and enjoy the rest of what that city has to offer. Traveling is a must for me so this was the first time my pass port was stamped and I look forward to recieving more stamps as times goes by.....

The Adonis Smith Memorial Scholarship Fund

I had a lovely time this past week visiting newark nj to help raise money for The Adonis Smith Memorial Scholarship Fund. I was with fellow All That cast member Kel Mitchell, along with a few other of Kel's celebrity friends. We visited J P Stevens High School where Adonis Smith went to before he passed away at the age of 18. This fund helps raise money for The Heart Association as well. We signed autographs and held a comedy show with some local comedians along with a Dodgeball game with myself and the other celebs.We played with the students and teachers and had a blast. The event was a success this is its 4th year and I was honored to be apart of this special experience. Thank you for all that attended and a big thank you to the Smith Family. I hope to do this event again this year to spread Adonis's story and how if a community unites one can make a difference. In 2008 I lost the most important person in my life my mother. Brenda Rose Cosgrove Reyes. Not only was she my mother but she was my best friend my soul mate my purpose for living. Since she passed I have had a great aunt Mary Del Grande pass away along with a best friend Anna Rodriquez. I had a dear child hood friend pass away in a tragic car accident as well her name is Crystal Rose and lastly my dear friend Corey Haim. Death is something that we all have to live with. As I get older I grow to respect death and become less afraid of the unknown. If anything I am thankful that when I die I will get to reunite with all of my family and friends that have passed away. I am not afraid to die I just pray to GOD my Lord my savior that I am able to see my mothers face the moment I die. When one loses a parent life changes. My mothers death was my rebirth. Her passing away changed my life for the better. My advice to anyone that loses a loved one is rather them mourne embrace it and celebrate their life. I wish all of my dear friends and my beloved mother nothing but peace and love while they are flying free into their next journey. May their souls soar free and be one with their hearts desires. I love you all and pray for you all always until we meet again.....

The Next Chapter

Do you ever wonder what your purpose in life is? Why we have good days and bad days? Why karma takes place in ones path in life? I ponder on these questions on a daily basis. We all have dreams and goals but its what we do within our actions that make those dreams and goals become a reality. I have been an actress since I was eight years old. I knew what I wanted to be from day one. I meet so many individuals that have no idea where they are headed in life. Sometimes it take something tramatic or something blunt to hit you in the face to make you realize your self worth. When my mother passed away my life changed for the better. I learned that material items mean nothing that money means nothing though one needs it to survive. I learned that family and friends are vital and that God comes first. The reason why I am writing about these topics is because I have many people ask me why I am the way I am? Its because one day I decided which happened to fall on the day of my mothers death that its time to grow and smell the roses. Its time to take care of Alisa and take care of my career, my home, my family and most of all my temple which is myself. Its ok to be selfish but its even better to pay it forward. My mother taught me that helping others is the right path and staying true to yourself is the most important. I wish everyone that has followed me through out my journey and for those that are new to my path I wish you all much love and blessings. Embrace Life

I'm back into blogger land. I am sure most of you are curious as to what happened to my last blog? I decided to make some changes with my website and my team and create a new vibe. Hope you like what I have done thus far. At the moment The Alisa Reyes Show which was on blogtalkradio.com is off the air. I booked a role in a film and I had to take a hiatus from the show. If I do return it will be with a whole new team of people. I am currently creating a new on screen show so I will keep you posted about all my new projects through out this year through this blog and all of my online sites.
