I found this amazing poem that I felt best suits a well needed "Thank You Poem" to all of my friends and family and all of my tweeties and facebook friends and online supporters, etc: I love you all and without you a lot would not be possible. Thank you for your patience and nonstop support. To all my fans that e-mailed me that may be asking for a reply or an autograph I just want you all to know that I am a bit behind on my fan mail and that I have not forgotten about your letters and requests. " BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER"

                                
"April showers bring May flowers". I thought that opening quote would be more then appropriate for this special piece I had to share with you all. It's been a minute since I did a blog since I am a busy bee and always doing a million and one things at one time. This past April was an inspiring month filled with SHOWERS of LOVE, REBIRTH and most of all SELF REALIZATION! As most of you know I am involved with a support system and they are called TEAM TRUE BEAUTY. 

Team True Beauty is a support system that works to empower from
within. We tell the youth it is the size of their heart that matters,
not their waist line. We want young women and men to know that they
don't have to look a certain way before achieving their dreams. Your
looks don't define you; your heart, your actions, your goals, and your
dreams do. We spread the message that everyone is worthy no matter
what, help to build inner confidence, raise awareness on the dangers
of eating disorders and promote the importance of feeling comfortable
in your own skin. Feeling confident about their body and who they are
as a person as well as teaching people to embrace their uniqueness is
our main goal.

I was able to attend an event that Team True Beauty held a while back in Hollywood, CA and fell in love with their inspiring message they have shared with the whole world. As an actor it is beyond vital for me to share with my friends and family and fan base that beauty is from within ones soul. I consistently have to deal with the struggles like we all do on a daily basis about self esteem, weight, and most of all feeling 100% secure about myself inside and out. I try to instill with in my online social media community that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that no matter what anyone says to YOU that YOU are enough and that YOU are beautiful, a precious being of GOD and that we are all already PERFECT no matter where we are in our life or what we look like. People always ask me Alisa how do you stay secure within yourself? To be honest I pray and thank GOD for having a blessed support system. I try to surround myself with positive enforcement and always try to look on the brighter side. Plus thinking before one speaks is a must because we as humans are always on the GO and we don't take a minute to STOP and BREATH and actually SMELL THE ROSES! If we took a second to realize what we say to others could effect their self esteem their day or their LIFE. Its up to us to be the captain of our ship and to stay clear of negativity and to embrace the not so perfect because in LIFE nothing is 100% perfect. I think having a flaw even if its small is very attractive. That is why I am a supporter of TEAM TRUE BEAUTY. Please follow them on twitter and online to stay posted about future events.

I recently spoke on a TEAM TRUE BEAUTY Panel in California this past month and had the pleasure of meeting a new friend of mine by the name of TAYRIN. 

Tayrin has a very emotional and touching story that she shared with us at the Team True Beauty panel and had the chance to speak on the panel with us where she shared her story and how DEARTAYRIN came about.

"DearTayrin" is a non profit organization who's purpose is to raise awareness and educate on sexual abuse while empowering those victimized throughout the Western New York area and abroad by providing awareness events, educational classes and other forms of support.  DearTayrin was founded in April of 2012 and since then has had numerous things happen such as:
June-July of 2012 - An educational class with the CEM After school program.  The group consisted of 15 girls (Age groups of 12-15) and out of those 15 girls - 12 girls came out with their own struggles and issues in life.
August of 2012 - Awareness Event which was held at Spot Coffee with over 50 attendees, 5 musicians, 2 scheduled to say their own story and 1 unscheduled gave her own story right at the event.
First Twitter Chat w/ then Miss NY and Now Miss America Mallory Hagan which was a collaboration and A twitter chat w/ Mr. Gay Buffalo 2012.
Amount of followers between Facebook and Twitter has grown to over 600 within the first year.
My goal this year is to continue to educate myself, do speaking engagements, create support groups (right now i have in mind to do a coffee time support group for victims including a licensed counselor who's on board w/ DearTayrin)

Tayrin is an amazing individual. I am beyond impressed with her inner strength and courage it took for her to share not only her story to us at the Team True Beauty panel but to the world. Many people on a daily basis deal with abuse in many different ways and DearTayrin's message touched my soul to the core. That I had to share these two great support systems with you all. Please follow DearTayrin online and help spread the word you may know someone or maybe you YOURSELF has struggled with abuse. Please know that you are not alone and with the on going help and support of DearTayrin you can help share your story with others and finally seek that closure and retain the help that you need to help get you to your next chapter in life.

A DearTayrin advocate will have to be a high profile person that is in full support of the cause and wouldn't mind dedicating a short amount of time in either answering tweets or emails. (All tweets and emails will be monitored by DearTayrin) The advocate would be required to sign a volunteer agreement. Also, the individual would be a representation to DearTayrin so the individual would also have to try to be at any DearTayrin events.  Which right now are only happening once a year other than that it's educational programs which in that case if the individual wanted to they could send words of encouragement to the group in some way.  Maybe doing some short video clips giving words of encouragement or speaking about DearTayrin campaigns, etc. They have an advising counsel who is on board so they would be able to draft up a volunteer agreement that would be signed to volunteer for the campaign and after one year if the individual wants to stay on board then they can go from there.

Summer Must Haves

Its that time of year where everyone always asks me Alisa what do you do to get prepared for the Summer time? After the holidays I always gain a few pounds and make it a new years resolution to hit the gym and eat healthy. Below are a few of my personal must haves that helped get me back on track this past year that I had to share with you all. Beauty Anyone? Makeup Time: My fav lip color that is always in my makeup bag is Revlon's hot new Orange. Every brand has their version you just need to know what works for you and your pocket. My new lipstick from revlon only costs me 10 bucks. Add a pretty gloss thats clear for the night with a cat eye and the boys will be sure to look your way. Skin kiss: Stila Makeup has some great bronzers for the perfect J-Lo Glow. Try their illuminate set that gives that touch of sunkist to your cheeks as if you were at the beach all day. Man-Pedi Anyone? I am so into the new OPI neon colors, pink and orange and even blue are a must for your beach toes this summer. Hair Love: I am so obsessed with CLEAR. Its a new hairline that gives your roots and ends the protein and nutrients it needs. After one wash my hair felt so smooth and fresh. Its only costs 6 dollars on sale its a steal and a must have. Its always good to try something new. I did and now I am in love. Bikini what? My new summer suit is Aqua. Bright colors area must. Bright colors with tan skin is a perfect match. Be sure to where sun block. Thats a must. Try new colors and maybe a retro style that brings you to another era but modern. Check out People.com for great ideas for summer beauty. Sunny days: Beach time is what makes summer fun. Plan a beach day with your friends pack a pinic and cooler and take pictures and share them with the world. Making memories during the summer always is special and never forgettable. Spend time with your family. Beautiful weather makes you want to enjoy life and be outside. I love to hike. Try something new it might surprise you. Dont forget to hit your local pool parties whether you are in Vegas, Miami, Ny or La, have your own BBQ just whatever you do dont waste a beautiful day. Activity: Be sure to work out go to the gym take a walk, hike with a friend. Go swimming that is a great way to burn calories. A program that I am a fan of is Loseit.com You track your calories and add your food and activity. It tells you how much you can lose at a realistic time line. Enjoy Life: Have fun read a book see a movie, have dinner with the girls grab a beer with the guys. Live your life travel if you can and stop and take a break to be with the ones you love. Take time to meditate thank your greater being which for me is God. Learn to let go and relax. If you can follow those suggestions I think you will have one great summer. 2012-A Special Message

As we embark on a new year I wanted to send a special thank you message to all of you and thank you all for your non stop love and support you have shown me all these years. Without all of you a lot wouldnt be possible. I cant thank you all enough for all the love you have shown me on facebook, myspace and twitter! I wish all of you many blessings and much happiness and joy this 2012. They say 2012 will be a special year of change and I pray that all of you recieve your hearts desires and that all of you have much success. 11-11-11

Today I woke with the intentions of attending a two hour yoga/meditation class at a certain yoga school I attend every now and then. Today is a very special day its the one day out of the year that is 11-11-11. When I got to the school I found out that you had to buy tickets for this class ahead of time so I asked if there was a waiting list or a chance that I could attend the class and they told me that they highly doubt it. That it would be best if I left because there were about 300 attendees and they were also planning on u streaming it if I wanted to watch it online. When I left the school this morning I became very emotionally and abit confused and very fusterated. The fact that I have been planning this day for the past week and to know that I could not attend this very class made my heart sad. I looked at their online info and I didnt see anything that stated that I needed to buy a ticket or if there was a waiting list. The lady said to me before I walked away that I will end up where I need to me today. I said to myself where I want to be is here but maybe where I need to be is HOME. When I got home I lite a candle and prayed to my Lord Jesus Christ and asked to help me get through today and to find a meaning as to why things didnt flow for me this morning. I believe things happen for a reason and that maybe I didnt attend this class because it was up to ME to find my inner light and to know that things might not always go as planned but as long as I stay true to my heart that things will flow and I will become more aware and have a better understanding of things. I had no urge to go on their online u stream I had no urge to reach out through yoga after I left. I debated on going on a hike but I wanted nothing more then to come home pray and take a small nap. Now I am awake and I feel somewhat drained. Today I was told is a day of detox and healing. Its a day of quietness. Stillness. I know that there are many people out there doing their own version of what they feel is special for themselves on this special day. Even though I was disappointed I realized that we arent always going to get what we want. Maybe I didnt need this class maybe todays meaning is within myself my soul. I dont know exacly what 11-11-11 is all about but I do know its a special day and I do feel some sort of shift energy wise. I am abit heavy minded today and miss my mother that passed away a few years ago. I know that I have amazing people around me and that my GOD is always watching over me as well as my animal spirits. I have my cat laying next to me right now as I write this blog. I just wanted to share with you all how I feel on this day. May all of you find some sort of meaning to today if you feel connected in some way. I wish you all many blessings and much love. I cant thank you all enough for the out pour of love you all of shown me. I truly and deeply love you all. May you all have many blessings for the rest of the year and for the new year to come.
